Senior Systems Administrator

As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will work with other DatStat operational areas in designing and maintaining the companies corporate and hosting infrastructure. Additionally, you will work with DatStat Engineering in defining the operational protocol and systems required in deploying and maintaining our current and next generation platforms using DatStat infrastructure and/or third party cloud infrastructure. Our platform will have you working with cutting edge web and cloud technologies, and you will play a key role as we revolutionize health research and healthcare delivery. You will need to be a self-starter who can operate in both a team and self-directed contexts. You will have a passion for delivering high quality web experiences, and care deeply about our customers. This position requires healthy doses of initiative and flexibility in a very dynamic environment.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:
  • 4 year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience managing a Microsoft hosting environment (MS Windows Server, MS IIS, MS SQL Server, .NET Framework, etc.) and managing a Microsoft corporate environment (MS Windows desktop OS).
  • Strong customer success orientation, with a drive and proven ability to finding win-win scenarios.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows networking topography including Domain Controllers, Active Directory and DNS. Exchange Server experience helpful.

  • Administer DatStat’s hosting infrastructure, including network, server, and storage devices inside Seattle based data center co-location facility.
  • Administer DatStat’s corporate IT infrastructure, including servers, laptops / desktops and other devices found within the enterprise (including MS Exchange, SCCM, etc.).
  • Develop and execute routine maintenance plan and targeted automation in support of DatStat’s hosting and corporate IT infrastructure.
  • Verify application uptime, execution and performance by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Contribute to the design and development of best-practices for hosting of DatStat’s enterprise software products in the DatStat cloud, including evaluation of future infrastructure scenarios based on forward looking strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with DatStat executive stakeholders in assessing business risks and opportunities, providing advisory strategic and tactical perspective on infrastructure decisions.
  • Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, information security, and control structures.
  • Maintain organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.

  • Maintain knowledge of regulations and policies related to DatStat’s business (HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, etc.) and participate as a key stakeholder in DatStat regulatory compliance processes.
  • Participate as a stakeholder in DatStat regulatory compliance processes, including maintenance of standard operating procedures related to DatStat’s corporate and hosting infrastructures.
  • Travel onsite to customer locations to support on-premise installations/upgrades, troubleshooting, and other customer enablement activities (travel expected: ~25%).
  • Field questions and requests from DatStat employees regarding their laptop/desktop hardware and software. Employee hardware/software environment includes Dell laptops and Apple MacBook computers running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 8, Apple OS X, and Parallels.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
