Engagement Manager/ Business Systems Analyst

Business Systems Analyst/ Engagement Manager


As an Engagement Manager/Business systems Analyst you must help facilitate successful customization and deployment of DatStat’s Data Collection & Insight Platform. You’ll have the opportunity to work with our entire suite of products, consulting clients on best practices along the way. The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with our clients to fully understand their business requirements by conducting interviews with key project stakeholders and creating clear and concise requirements documentation that will be used to program the solution. This position requires the skills to elicit, analyze and understand client needs and work flows, evaluate systems, recommend strategies and communicate business needs to the project team.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:
  • Must have experience partnering with clients to elicit, analyze, translate and document business requirements, as well as writing detailed technical specifications for configuration/development.
  • Able to translate high-level information into details and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage requirements trace-ability through to QA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and effectively engage with individuals across all levels of an organization.
  • Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve with little to no direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound business judgment to determine logical solutions to complex problems.
  • Application / platform configuration experience is desired (SalesForce.com, Atalssian / JIRA, Sharepoint, etc).
  • Experience working in a services / software organization with experience participating in software development life cycle of full stack solutions preferred.
  • Experience working as a Program Manager within a software development organization is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with client-facing implementation projects desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems or informatics desired.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a background in research.

  • Project Management and facilitation, from kick-off meeting to completion / handover to Account Management.
  • Interact with technical and non-technical team members to gather and document requirements, translate functional specifications into technology solutions.
  • Play the role of trusted advisor to our clients making best practice recommendations and guiding our clients on best use of DatStat’s Data Collection & Insight platform to meet their specific business needs.
  • Identify, communicate and document project risks and issues that may require changes to plans or scope.
  • Assist Engagement Managers with optimizing scope, benefits and risks or proposed projects and help manage internal and external customer expectations.
  • Analyze the impact of change requests and ensure all changes are documented and communicated to the project team.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services to corporate and research clients in the design, development and implementation of research; including questionnaire design, questionnaire programming, testing, research methodology and reporting.
  • Participate in all project life-cycle phases including design, development and user acceptance testing. Must be able to understand key deliverables within each phase as they apply to project scope and how those deliverables are affected by various dependencies and constraints.
Software Engineer

Software Engineer


As a Software Engineer, you will work with the DatStat engineering team in the design, and implementation of DatStat’s next generation survey and research management platform. Our new platform will have you working with cutting edge web and cloud technologies, and you will play a key role as we revolutionize online research. You will need to be a self-starter who can operate in both a team and self-directed contexts. You will have a passion for delivering high-quality web experiences, and care deeply about our customers. This position requires healthy doses of initiative and flexibility in a very dynamic environment.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:
  • Experience with industry standard web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Jquery, AJAX, JSON, etc. More than passing knowledge of emerging technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with a broad number of Javascript frameworks / libraries, including Bootstrap, Jquery, Angular JS, etc
  • Experience in building scalable web application front-ends in a cloud / SaaS architectural model.
  • Experience developing with the Microsoft technology stack, including IIS, .NET, SQL Server, MVC, etc. using C#.
  • Worked in an “agile” environment, using SCRUM for iterative development.
  • A strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the design and quality of the products you work on.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to advocate for best practices, great usability, and exceptional quality.
  • Great organizational skills and a strong feel for process.
  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree/experience).

Technical Specialist Intern

Technical Specialist Intern


As a Technical Specialist Intern you will be highly motivated, results-oriented, and organized individual with strong written and verbal communication skills and technical know-how. You’ll need to be able, and excited about researching and learning new techniques and technologies to meet the ever-changing requirements of our customers. Understanding the need, finding a solution, and adapting your solution to work with DatStat’s web-based survey platform will be your daily bread and butter. We’ve provided the platform; you’ll customize it to meet the needs of our diverse customer base. The position is ideally suited for a meticulous, multi-tasking, detail-oriented, quick learner, who approaches work with the highest levels of commitment, energy, and integrity.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:
  • Intermediate HTML competency and basic understanding of JavaScript and CSS is required.
  • At least 1 year of prior work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, technical aptitude, and strong desire to learn new things.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, flexible mindset, and the ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced multi-task environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently individually as well as be a key contributor in a team environment.
