With a multi-year multi-site study involving complex data analysis, Dr. Hollon and his colleagues needed a sophisticated online data collection and management application to improve the research process. This clinical trial involving over 450 patients compares several treatments aimed at preventing the recurrence of depression.
Collecting and managing data for more than 450 patients over the course of a decade required extra personnel and time to insure data cleanliness, including extended post-study data cleanup.
Historically, multi-site studies and paper-based data collection methods made it virtually impossible to view in-study results.
Meeting the NIMH regulatory (DSMB) and IRB requirements through necessary reports took months to prepare.
