‘Tis the Season
If all the lights, flocked pine trees, and ugly sweater party invites didn’t tip you off, let us fill you in – it is the Season of Giving! Whether its gifts, canned food items or time, it is important to take this opportunity to give back to the community. This year, DatStat is supporting Childhaven by giving 28 local children a gift from their wish list.
A local, Puget Sound organization
Childhaven is a Washington-based nonprofit organization that provides healing care to abused, neglected, and chemically affected babies, toddlers and preschoolers. For over 100 years, they have been using scientifically proven therapeutic care strategies to end the cycle of child abuse and neglect. Throughout the year, Childhaven is busy with various fundraisers, including luncheons, auctions and the famous Top Pot sponsored Doughnut Dash (because what’s better than giving back and eating a delicious doughnut guilt-free?).
The Giving Tree Program allows families, groups of friends and local businesses to host a tree with gift tags so children throughout the Puget Sound can have their wishes or needs granted. All of DatStat’s and Childhaven’s Giving Tree gift tags are accounted for and we delivered 28 wonderful gifts this year! Their Family Wishes Program is still open, and you can always donate to help the many children in need. So, while you’re at the local thrift store shopping for an ugly sweater, pick up a little something extra for a local charity or someone who has positively impacted your life this past year.
